Replica 1936 Sparton model 506 "Bluebird" Table AM/FM Radio
Model No: 11070
Art Deco and Streamline Moderne design, and the radio manufactured in 1936 by the Sparks-Withington Company of Jackson, Michigan is one of the pinnacles of Art Deco-style industrial design in the 1930s.The celebrated Sparton "Bluebird" 566 (506) glass mirror radio was one of a group of four Sparton sets for 1936 styled by noted industrial designer Walter Dorwin Teague.
This replica is absolutely breathtaking. Of course, the electronics are updated to reflect current radio technology; it's AM/FM and even has a little cassette slot on the side. But except for one minor difference (black feet on the original, chromed-plastic feet on the replica), this is a dead ringer for the original Bluebird. The mirror is a whopping 16" in diameter, two inches larger than the original Bluebird. It looks and sounds great.
Stunning 42cm diameter mirror finish cobalt blue disc with retro styled tuning dial in centre, set off by chrome effect surround. With chrome effect bars and spherical feet. - This is one piece of furniture once seen never forgotten! Ideal Wedding or Birthday gift for that someone special.
